Artist
Lucian Bistreanu is a Romanian-born painter based in Brittany, France.
He began drawing and painting in 1990, while studying law at the Romanian-American University in Bucharest. His practice developed independently alongside a life lived between Romania, the United States and France.
Since his first solo exhibition in 1998, his work has been exhibited in all three countries. He works primarily in painting, with a practice centred on the human figure, memory and the expressive possibilities of colour and gesture.
